Family FAQs
Where in the UK do you shoot?
I am based in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey UK, I am happy to shoot any location in Surrey & most surrounding areas: Basingstoke, Haslemere, Oxford, Reading, Hertfordshire, Greater & Central London. If you’re unsure of whether I can reach your area, pop me an email & we can chat!
The Grandparents are coming to visit; can they be included in our family shoot?
Of course! My family shoots cover up to 6 people, If you’d like more than 6 members of the family involved, the base cost of the shoot is a £125 instead of £90.
What should we wear?
I’m very happy to help with any styling advise you need, I have a wardrobe guide that I can send to you if you book with me. It includes suggested colour palettes & advise on clothing choices!
How long before I see photos from my session?
I offer sneak peek options where I post on social media (with your permission first) a few favourites within a few days, but your final collection to make your choices from will be ready within 1-2 weeks of your shoot.
Do you offer prints?
Yes I do, have a look at my prices & packages which outline these.
Can you advise on shooting locations?
Absolutely, whilst the shoot location is entirely up to you, I will happily advise on some of my favourite spots! The shoot can take place in the comfort of your own home, with indoor shots & garden. Or perhaps a favourite family outdoor place you like visiting!
What’s the best time of day for a photoshoot?
This entirely depends on the time of year, I aim to schedule shoots for when the light is fairly low, however, if this doesn’t fit in with your family, then that’s okay. I would much rather battle the midday sun & have happy faces than perfect light and upset, tired children! Timings are something that we can discuss to fit around nap times, the best light & hopefully a quieter time at your location of choice!
What if it rains?
Don’t worry! I’m always happy to reschedule if it’s going to be raining on the day of our shoot.
Do you sell gift certificates for family photoshoots?
Yes I do! I can tailor these to exactly what you’d like to gift. You can buy a gift certificate gifting just the photoshoot, or you can include a few digital copies and / or prints. It’s entirely up to you. I often put out offers through the year, do follow me on Instagram & Facebook to keep up to date with those, or you can join my mailing list below and I’ll let you know next time I have a special offer on!

Wedding FAQs
What’s your style of wedding Photography?
I combine candid documentary-style photography with creative portrait techniques, my reportage & unobtrusive approach allows me to capture natural, genuine & fun photographs that tell your story, really reflecting what it feels like to be there. Whilst your planned photos will make sure you get those precious images with your family & friends! I want to capture everything that makes your day special; I will be visible but not intrusive. I will give you direction & guidance when needed but for the most part I want to capture you enjoying your day, with sincere & candid photos, from the big moments to the quiet ones!
Do you take group photos?
Yes absolutely. Although I don’t think it wise to spend 4 hours doing these!! I would limit them to the ones you really want. I always go through these with every couple to make sure we’ve got the right amount of time set aside to get these done, but not too long as you don’t want to miss your day! For instance if you want around 8 different family / friend photos, plus a group photo with everyone in your wedding party, I would say you need about 1.5 hours for these, which can be done during your drinks reception if you’re planning on having one!
What’s the engagement shoot and do I need one?
It’s definitely not a requirement but I have found them super useful; as have the couples I’ve worked with! The engagement shoot is 1-2 hours usually at your venue or the photo location you’ve chosen for your wedding day. It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to get to know one another, we pick all the best spots for your photographs & you have a chance to see how I work. Having a bit of time in front of the camera also ensures that you feel more comfortable & confident on your big day. An engagement shoot is included with one of my wedding packages but you can also book these separately, price & package wise these work the same way a family session does, have a look at my price & package page where this is outlined! you can also view some Engagement Highlights here!
Do you photograph same sex weddings?
Of course.
I love your work! How do we book you?
Hurray! Head over to my contact page to get in touch! If you send me your names & wedding date so I can check my availability & we can go from there. On my prices & packages page I outline a few wedding packages, have a look through and see if any of them are for you. I also offer bespoke packages so do not fear! Just get in touch & we can talk weddings!
Do you meet & discuss wedding plans before the big day?
With every wedding package I suggest we meet / video chat at least once to go through all the details of your wedding day. It’s always good to have a clear idea of timings & locations so that when it comes to the day, no time is wasted, leaving you to enjoy the day!
How many photos will I receive?
Every wedding day is different so it really varies; it also depends on how long you’d like me with you on the day! Head over to my prices & packages page that outlines the different packages & roughly how many photos are included!
How long do I wait until I see my photos?
With your permission, I always like to pop a few sneak peeks from your day on social media within the week of your wedding day. You then receive your full digital wedding package 6-8 weeks after your wedding day. If your wedding package includes any prints or books, these take a little longer to design, print & deliver. I like my couples to see all their images first to make decisions on which ones they’d like printed and in their wedding album, so after you’ve received your digital wedding package, books & prints will usually take a further 4-6 weeks.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, I have public liability insurance up to £2,000,000 & have never had to make a claim.
Pre wedding, do you visit the venue?
Where possible I love visiting the venue with my couples so we can do a good recce of photo spots & it’s a good opportunity to go through timings & locations of the day. It means on the day we can all relax as we all know where we’re supposed to be & when!
How do I secure the date for my wedding?
To secure your wedding day I take 20% of my wedding fee upfront as a deposit. The remainder of the balance is then paid in two more instalments; half paid 30 days before & the other half paid 7 days after your wedding day.
Do you offer prints & wedding albums?
I do! Once you’ve seen your wedding photos, I am very happy to offer you a free consultation where we can sit down & go through design, cover & size options! I work with the wonderful Folio Albums who create gorgeous prints & books, you can have a look at what they offer by clicking here.
